You can probably guess why hotels and resorts offer aquatic amenities, but where are the numbers to back up the reasoning? Here. With over 7,000 views, the report, “𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀” was the first study of its kind in the industry. Here are some key findings: * There is a correlation between adding aquatic amenities and increased RevPAR rates. * Among hotels that added a water park or aquatic feature after opening, 89% saw an increase in occupancy. * After opening, hotels that added a water park or aquatic feature saw an increase in ADR, with 66% reporting ADR increases of 11% or more. Happy 35th anniversary to Parc Astérix! This beloved French theme park takes guests to the world of the fearless and hilarious Astérix and Obelix. One of the park’s most popular attractions is L’Oxygénarium, a Spinning Rapids Ride by WhiteWater. Opened in 1999, this #TheaAward-winning attraction was revolutionary at the time, with a custom ride conveyor lifting 6-person rafts to a height of 20 meters, where they then slide down almost 200 exhilarating meters spinning left as well as right before splashing into the river below. Our environmental impact is a focus for more than just one #EarthDay. Three years ago, WhiteWater committed to significant sustainability goals, and we have been diligently striving to keep our promises. Changing the way we live, play, and work to make the world a more sustainable place is not easy. That’s why Earth Day is a great opportunity for all of us to share what we’re doing to minimize the ecological footprint of our businesses, even if (or especially because) the work is really hard. At WhiteWater, we are: * Tasking our teams with making our products even more energy efficient and consume even less water * Engaging in waste reduction initiatives and technology development projects to reduce the impact of our materials throughout the entire product lifecycle * Working towards ISO 14001 certification and developing a corporate environmental management system (EMS) *Funding dedicated university research to investigate better end-of-life solutions for fiberglass *Participating in educational sessions about sustainability so that attractions industry players can learn from one another, such as #greenloop on April 30th * Encouraging our employees to live more sustainably through corporate activities and local environmental charity engagements This isn’t a day to pay lip service to sustainability with marketing, but a day to celebrate the passion and continued contributions of all our employees.
