About

As a classically trained pianist with over 16 years of experience (2007-present), my roots lie in the realm of classical music. However, my curiosity and interest in the world of sound gradually led me to explore other instruments and tools. Venturing into the realm of electronic music, I learned to navigate multiple Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) and became captivated by the physics and math behind sound manipulation and synthesis. This exploration not only broadened my sonic palette but also unearthed a passion for shaping and sculpting auditory landscapes.

Collaborating closely with diverse teams, I gained invaluable experience learning the dynamics of many teams and working styles as well as the many facets of filmmaking, from ideation to post-production. Through these collaborative endeavors, I now find myself looking to gain experience learning the standards of the professional audio industry and seek to apply myself to projects that not only refine but elevate my craft of audio storytelling and composition.

On my journey of breaking into the audio industry, I've had the opportunity to shadow multiple experts and teams and gain an understanding of the tools and skills as well as the overall process. Studying the necessity of understanding Pro Tools and learning peripheral software such as SoundFlow, EUCON, and the importance of live-sound recording has inspired my own journey forward.

Learned and practiced applying leadership skills in both civil life and out in the wilderness. Seven years well spent understanding many parts of society through the merit badge program - from my earliest introductions to cinematography/filmmaking to learning the chain of command for a Search & Rescue team and carrying out that process in a mock-search-and-rescue scenario.

Most prominently, for my Eagle Project I wrote, proposed, and executed the re-design of a set of bleachers for my local Arboretum's Outdoor Classroom. Originally, they had a set of aluminum + galvanized steel bleachers that were donated by a local Rosary group. While these materials are great for sustaining environmental factors (rainfall, sunlight, animals), it didn't fit well with what the outdoor classroom represented. After conducting research on the types of materials that could maintain a natural theme and sustain outdoor wear, I drew up a proposal in Photoshop to adapt the current set of bleachers in a cost-effective way.

Over the course of three workdays, I rallied community volunteers to assist in the transformation. We replaced the abrasive aluminum surfaces of the bleachers, meticulously sanding, painting, and weatherproofing planks of Heart Redwood sourced from Ganahl Lumber. We also found it important to re-inforce the galvanized steel structure via welding (another skill learned at a yearly summer camp). After all was said and done, I had amassed over 200+ hours of volunteer work from the community and the pair of bleachers still stands in the Outdoor Classroom today. This project was not only my initiation into large-scale project management but also an invaluable lesson in clear communication and the meticulous execution of specific design concepts.
